Danielle Auriemma, Ph.D.
Dr. Danielle Auriemma aims to provide a warm, welcoming environment in which clients identify strengths and challenges, learn skills to make real changes, decrease symptoms, and improve well-being.
She received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Fordham University. She is a licensed psychologist, as well as a certified school psychologist, practicing in the Rockville Centre office. She provides psychotherapy to individuals and families and uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach to help clients achieve their goals. Dr. Auriemma has conducted and presented research on the role of play in toddler development, the stress associated with parenting, and how parents negotiate the challenges of work and parenthood.
Dr. Auriemma has worked with a variety of clients ranging from preschool aged children to adults, and has led social skills and anxiety groups. She is highly skilled at performing comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations to investigate developmental, intellectual, and behavioral factors impacting learning and academic success (i.e., autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, and behavioral disorders). When working with children and adolescents, Dr. Auriemma works closely with families, schools, and other providers to ensure success across settings.
