Believed by some to be just a somewhat milder, non-psychotic version of schizophrenia, Schizotypal Personality Disorder is much like Schizoid Personality Disorder but with a few differences. Like the schizoid personality, the person with Schizotypal Personality Disorder is socially isolated but, additionally, holds very strange beliefs and suspicions. Other features of the disorder are as follows:

  • inappropriate affect
  • odd speech and thought patterns
  • magical thinking
  • lack of close friends, besides first degree family
  • bodily illusions
