Description
This disorder affects only memory. Resultant impairment inhibits the person from learning new information or from recalling information she had learned previously. Amnestic Disorder causes difficulties in the individual’s functioning in occupational or social settings. There is evidence that this memory disturbance has a physiological basis, usually resulting from head trauma or abuse of drugs.
